Every year the guild organizes a quilt show on Labor Day weekend during Little Balkan's Day, in conjunction with the Little Balkan's Festival Association. The guild is the event coordinator for the show, but does not raise funds for the guild. All guild members are encouraged to help with this community project. A boutique of hand-made, quilt related items is a guild fund-raiser during the show. Special nationally known traveling exhibits are brought in as special displays for the show. Vendors are on site to sell quilting supplies. The guild draws for the annual donation quilt on Sunday afternoon of the show.

The guild is also involved in various community projects.  The members of the LBQG make lap quilts or baby quilts which are then donated to an organization in the community.  In the past they have been donated to Mt. Carmel Hospital Cancer Treatment Center and Pediatrics, Home Health Care, and various other facilities who help those in need.

The guild meetings are on the third Monday of every month at 7:00 at the Presbyterian Church on the corner of 6th and Pine in Pittsburg, Kansas.
